"We don't experience the world fully unless we are willing to give everything away. Sakarya means not holding anything back, not preparing our escape route, not looking for alternatives, not thinking that there is ample time to do things later." -Pema Chodron
I was literally brought to tears when I reached for this book and opened to this quote while sifting through my office this morning. I feel as though I am giving away everything we have created as we are about to embark on a new adventure. Continually questioning if we are letting go to ultimately move forward with our dreams?
Hey everyone. One week ago my mom (@ohnyla_cakedesigns) was in an accident that shattered her wrist and two bones right below her knee. She underwent emergency surgery and is currently still in the hospital waiting for approval to move to a rehabilitation facility.
Here is a bit of backstory and why I am reaching out to you. My mom is an award winning professional cake artist and has been for over 30 years. This past January she took a leap of faith to open her own dream cake shop. Her business was quick to thrive as she has built a large following over the years. With this accident she will be unable to decorate thus loosing all her income until she is recovered in the months to come. As artists it's so easy to take for granted our hands and arms that help us create and further more help us to make an income. My mom has always been the first to jump to help any and all, and now it's time for her to receive. I am asking for your thoughts and well wishes during this time along with your consideration to donate to her GoFundMe campaign to help cover the rising medical costs and loss of income for the unknown duration.

It's the second week of summer camp at my studio and I just love hearing what the kids have to say about my art in the space. They are so curious and insightful talking amongst each other. I overheard this one reminded them of a sunrise on a snowy spring morning. #wip #studioscenes
Wishing you all a restorative day. "Restorative" 12X16 inch on canvas. Now available on my site.
It's a gorgeous sunny day! I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday afternoon.
Anyone who knows me really well, knows that I am terrible at making quick decisions. I overthink and analyze all potential situations and often find myself, "Caught in a Riptide" 24x30 inch on canvas.
Yard #inspiration everywhere I look.
If you've ever driven through the Midwest you know the calmness and vast openness of sky and fields for miles.

New work up @lifefloat in Seattle.
Happy Saturday! I just finished up the final week of after school classes at my studio @circleofartstudios yesterday and am super excited for all our summer camps starting Monday. A shift in pace and perhaps more hours to paint! I am yearning to stretch a BIG canvas to explore more with this palette. 🎨
With all the pending changes happening in my life I haven't been getting as much time in the studio as I would like, but when I do, it sure feels amazing. Looking forward to finding our new groove amongst our new adventure in the coming months.
Join me next weekend, June 24th and 25th! Link to register in my profile.
Gathering line ideas from my yard this morning. Happy Sunday!
I've been enjoying my time exploring with this one in the studio. How's your week going?
"If you are feeling frightened about what comes next, don't be. Embrace the uncertainty. Allow it to lead you to places. Be brave as it challenges you to exercise both your heart and your mind as you create your own path towards happiness, don't waste time with regret. Spin wildly into your next action. Enjoy the present, each new moment, as it comes; because you'll never get another one quite like it. And if you should ever look up and find yourself lost, simply take a breath and start over. Retrace your steps and go back to your purest place in your heart...where your hope lives. You'll find your way again." -GG
